Why aren’t your emails interactive?

The folder where dreams go to die

In September 2016, a recruiter from a software company emailed me about an opportunity to work for “a leading advertising / marketing SaaS platform who were looking to expand their London team”. I was in a meeting when I opened the email on my phone and wasn’t able to take the time to reply, so I saved it to read and revisit later. The job description looked interesting but I wanted to do a little digging before getting back to him.

Fast forward to December 2016 (many months after receiving the initial email) I came across the email I had started to write back to the recruiter hidden in my draft folder.

AKA the folder where dreams go to die.

I had completely forgotten about my unfinished response to the recruiter, which was now rotting away at the bottom of my drafts folder.

Since then, my team and I have been working on actionable.me.

We’ve known for a while now that more than half the emails sent get opened on mobile devices where users want and expect one-touch interactions. However, until that day, we had only been selling actionable.me to sales teams. Helping them book meetings quicker and accelerate their deal conversion process.

Empowering recruiters with Smart Emails

With this exciting new use case in mind, I quickly finished typing up my response and hit send. To my surprise, the recruiter contacted me only seconds later to find out more about how actionable.me could help him get the same instant responses on email. Two phone calls later, they became one of the first customers we have using actionable.me for recruiting purposes.

Do give us a shout if you think of any other emails that you think should be interactive. Have a look at the email below to see how we have been helping our new friend out!
